Not-For-Profit Advertising
- Advertising is free (subject to the conditions below) for organizations that are –
– Not-for-Profit
– run by volunteers
– with a connection to the Garfield community, and
– that do not have a paid employee, contractor, instructor etc. that financially benefits from a regularly conducted event that the organization runs.
- In cases where Not-for-Profit organizations have –
– affiliations with groups that are specifically set up as an independent commercial enterprise, advertising the affiliations will be charged as a commercial business, or
– a paid employee, contractor, instructor etc. that financially benefits from a regularly conducted event that the organization runs, advertising the event will be charged as a commercial business
- A one-off type advertisement to promote or inform of a particular event, such as a fete, car boot sale, trivia night, AGM or an open day etc. should conform to our standard sizes.
- For a standing advertisement that a not-for-profit organization requires over a period of time e.g. 1 to 3 months perhaps promoting what the not-for-profit organization does, seeking volunteers, asking for various donations, etc. –
– it must fit either our standard small or 1/3 A5 page size, and
– must be a set copy i.e. not changing from month to month, and
– due to our cost of printing will only be offered free for a maximum of 3 months in any one financial year.
- The Garfield Spectator has the discretion to modify or reject material if it is felt any organization is abusing the goodwill of free advertising with too large or too frequent requests.
- Due to production costs, the number of pages produced for each edition of the newsletter is limited. The editor therefore has the discretion, if required, to modify or exclude copy to fit free promotions or advertising within each edition.
